The new Unit4 Studio is home to Carl Wilson Photography and The Wildfire Team.

With over 4,000 sq. ft. of workspace, a 25ft infinity cove, green screen, vehicle access, video editing, recording studio and all the usuals including WIFI, lounge area, kitchen, changing facilities, oh, and two remote control helicopters, it really is a multifunctional studio. If you like your pictures in motion then Pete's your man.

Heading up The Wildfire Team, Pete's expertise lies in filming, editing and audio mastering, often collaborating with Carl on joint projects. Utilising the in-house facilities as well as location shooting, Pete has amassed a wealth of experience along with a few good stories along the way.

Headway Dorset - Cycle Helmet Awareness Campaign.

We think this film is one of the most important we have ever produced in terms of the goals it was required to achieve. If you are reading this you'll have an inkling that this is more than just a bike stunt video, but the audience that sees this in schools around the country are shown it with no prior explanation, so the impact of what occurs 4minutes and 25 seconds in, hits hard. (Don't skip straight there or you'll ruin it!)

This is a great example to show every element of The Wildfire Team's talents as we produced not only the film, but conceived the idea and wrote and produced the music, all in house at Unit4.

Broadview Mobile Vehicle Awnings - The Professional Way to Work Undercover.

The first question we usually ask a client is "What do you want this video to achieve?" In this case the answer was; "To highlight the problems associated with not having our Mobile Awning, to show the benefits if you do, and also to show how easy it is to set up. Oh, and of course to sell more of the product.
And… it mustn't be more than three minutes long!"

No Pressure then.

At Wildfire we came up with the concept of this two part movie. The first part shows the inability to work without the awning in inclement weather. Shot on a DSLR with a shift lens to push elements of the image out of focus, and then 'washed out' in post-production, we get a real feel of frustration from the main character. The audio FX (wipers, rain etc) were recorded at Unit 4 to give complete control over the post-production process.

In stark contrast the second part, shot on the Sony XD Cam EX1, is clean, crisp and bright and shows the benefits of having the awning, whilst incorporating a section showing how easy it is to set up. OK, we failed on one part if the brief – the video finished up at 3 minute and 4 seconds!

A wonderfully visual subject matter from the grand, sleek and polished aircraft to the intricate precision of the mechanics and electronics; this was a dream
to shoot.

We have embellished the final cut with some subtle graphics and animations along with a split screen technique and a 'Dawn to Dusk' time-lapse sequence.

- 'Benny Hill' Christmas Spoof

We have produced a Video Christmas Card for Space and Time for several years running and this was the most fun yet. The Space and Time staff as ever put on fantastic performances, running around dressed as Santas, nuns, policemen, robbers and a reindeer.

Plenty of post-production fun for us too, adding bawdy sound effects, musical pastiche and classic camera trickery via After Effects.
